GAP Ministries is in immediate need of caring married couples for our ten family-style homes in Northwest Tucson where we care for children and teens placed in foster care.

This job is located in TUCSON, ARIZONA.

Salary: $40,000 to $50,000 annually per person paid on an hourly basis. Plus $3,500 incentive bonus per full time* couple (*based on a 50 to 65 hour work week). Relocation bonus also available.

Weekly Schedule: 4 or 5 days “on” with 3 or 2 days off weekly, position requires weekends.

Job Summary: As a live in parents you will strive to provide a safe, Christ-centered temporary home for children in your care. You will be part of a larger Christ-centered team with high expectations for biblical character and values focused on creating and modeling the behaviors of love, hope and peace for the children and for all staff.

Essential Functions: The primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Live with, care for and love 8 to 10 children.
  • Perform duties such as cooking, driving, cleaning administering medication, budgeting, reporting, etc.
  • Be responsible for the children’s development including spiritual well-being.
  • Implement the daily schedule for the children, engage in group activities or with individual children within the group, as their needs require.
  • Prepare meals, following posted menu and follow sanitary guidelines.
  • Assist along with other staff to ensure that the home and yard are maintained in a safe and clean manner.

Qualifications:

  • Be physically fit and emotionally mature to perform job duties.
  • Have personal attitudes, conduct and standards representing those qualities and values, which children can respect and emulate.
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer and corresponding programs.
  • Be able to respect and work cooperatively with a variety of persons, including instilling confidence in and inspiring others, acting with integrity, and building trusted relationships.
  • Able to work well with ever changing priorities and or situations. Have the ability to stay calm in tense situations and utilize common sense and logic.

Requirements:

  • Must be 22 years old to drive company 15 passenger van.
  • At least a high school diploma or equivalency diploma (GED).
  • Able to demonstrate at least 1 year of successfully working with children and/or youth.
  • Successful clearance of Criminal Background Check(s), no allegations of child or elderly abuse in Arizona and any state(s).
  • Valid driver license and a good 5 year driving record to drive 15 passenger van.
  • Have manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills and be able to perform various physical tasks and drive vehicles.
